Charlotte roof adjuster visit guide

How to Prepare for a Roof Adjuster Visit

A practical, factual checklist for Charlotte-area homeowners—from the first storm concern through the carrier inspection and written roofing scope.

01

Before the appointment

  • Confirm the adjuster’s date, arrival window and contact information.
  • Ask the carrier whether your roofing contractor may attend the property visit.
  • Keep the claim number, carrier contact and accurate event or discovery timeline together.
  • Save storm photos, interior water-stain photos, temporary-repair photos, invoices and receipts.
  • Do not climb onto a wet, damaged or unstable roof. Let qualified parties inspect safely.
02

During the visit

  • Answer policy and claim questions accurately; do not guess or change dates.
  • Show the adjuster the areas where you first noticed water, debris or visible damage.
  • When scheduled and permitted, Majestic may point out documented roof conditions and explain the contractor’s written construction scope.
  • The carrier’s adjuster independently evaluates cause, policy terms, coverage and payment.
  • Ask how and when the carrier’s written estimate or decision will be delivered.
03

After the visit

  • Request and keep the carrier’s written estimate, correspondence and decision documents.
  • Review the physical construction scope against Majestic’s measurements and written estimate.
  • Direct policy, deductible, ACV, RCV, depreciation and coverage questions to the carrier or a licensed insurance professional.
  • If factual construction items differ, Majestic may prepare contractor documentation or a supplement for review.
  • Do not begin permanent work until the written construction agreement and project path are clear.

Majestic documentation

What the roofing record may include.

The final package depends on what was inspected, what work was authorized and what the carrier or homeowner requested.

  • Timestamped or organized roof photographs when available
  • Roof measurements and affected-slope identification
  • Written roofing estimate or contractor scope
  • Product and component information
  • Temporary protection documentation and receipts
  • Factual scope clarification when requested
!

Majestic does not coach homeowners to hide facts, interpret coverage or pressure an adjuster. The goal is a complete, accurate roofing record.
